Statutory maternity pay
This is paid for 39 weeks and is:
- 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings before tax for the first six weeks
- £184.03 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks
Statutory paternity pay
This is paid for either one or two weeks and is:
- £184.03 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings before tax (whichever is lower)
Statutory adoption pay
This is paid for 39 weeks and is:
- 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings for the first six weeks
- £184.03 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks

2023/24
Statutory maternity pay
This is paid for 39 weeks and is:
- 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings before tax for the first six weeks
- £172.48 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks

This is paid for either one or two weeks and is:
- £172.48.66 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings before tax (whichever is lower)

This is paid for 39 weeks and is:
- 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings for the first six weeks
- £172.48 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks
2022/23

This is paid for 39 weeks and is:
- 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings before tax for the first six weeks
- £156.66 or 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks
