Shelley Read

Shelley has worked in financial services for over 25 years. She began her career in the mortgage market before moving into face-to-face protection sales in 2008. Shelley originally worked with Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, which later merged into Royal London, where she represented the West Midlands and Warwickshire area.

In July 2017, Shelley joined her current team and now supports advisers across the whole of the UK. She's involved in developing adviser-facing content, presenting, writing articles and providing expert commentary to the press.

This experience has given Shelley an in-depth understanding of both the mortgage and protection markets. Her strengths include training and coaching advisers to recommend protection solutions to their clients, and delivering this in an easy-to-understand way. She also has expertise in family protection, and most recently, in raising awareness of economic abuse and what this means for the protection industry.

Shelley recently moved from the Midlands to North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland. She enjoys long walks on the beach with her two Labradoodles. When she isn't travelling for work, she spends much of her time renovating a beautiful Grade 2 listed building.
