Aplastic anaemia - with bone marrow failure
A definite diagnosis of aplastic anaemia by a consultant haematologist. There must be permanent bone marrow failure with anaemia, neutropenia, and thrombocytopenia.

We've removed the need for treatment. Claims can now be made on diagnosis only.

Aplastic anaemia – permanent
A definite diagnosis by a consultant haematologist of permanent bone marrow failure which results in anaemia, neutropenia and thrombocytopenia requiring treatment with at least one of the following:
- blood transfusion;
- marrow stimulating agents;
- immunosuppressive agents;
- bone marrow transplant.
For the above definition, the following is not covered:
- other forms of anaemia.
