Both sessions will have a running time of 90 minutes, with the morning session being held in Nottingham and the lunch session in Bromsgrove. Food and refreshments are available at each venue before the seminars begin.
Hear Director for Policy & External Communications for Royal London, Steve Webb, share his insight on 'The pension landscape 2019'. Joined by Investment Director for Royal London Asset Management, Nersen Pillay, who will present why 'It's crucial to be global, diversified and active.'
A CPD certificate of 45 minutes will be offered for Nersen's presentation and a Certificate of Attendance of 45 minutes will be offered for Steve's presentation.
Steve Webb, Director of Policy at Royal London will provide an update on the latest initiatives from regulators and government which will shape the world of pensions in the coming year. This will include: The DB to DC transfer market and the regulatory environment; next steps on automatic enrolment; the future of pension tax relief; consolidation in workplace pensions; and the forthcoming Pensions Bill.
Steve Webb - Director of Policy and External Communications
Steve Webb is Director of Policy at Royal London. He was Minister of State for Pensions between 2010 and 2015, the longest-serving holder of the post. During that time he implemented major reforms to the state pension system, oversaw the successful introduction of automatic enrolment and played a key role in the new pension freedoms implemented in April 2015. Steve was a Liberal Democrat MP from 1997 to 2015. Before this he was professor of social policy at Bath University for two years, having previously worked for nine years as an economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. He was awarded a knighthood in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list.
With volatility in markets resulting from a long economic expansion, trade wars, middle eastern tensions and the challenges of dealing with negative bond yields and equities bouncing sharply this year, Nersen Pillay will discuss why 'It is crucial to be global, diversified and active' and talk about our current global multi asset views.
Nersen Pillay - Investment Director, RLAM
Nersen Pillay is Investment Director in the Multi Asset team, working on tactical asset allocation and the communication of investment strategies. After studying economics at the University of Cambridge, Nersen joined Barclays Global Investors in 1995, where he became an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals, and was involved in market strategy and ran active quant portfolios. After that, Nersen was a fund manager at Allianz Global Investors, working on global equity and multi-asset portfolios. Subsequently, Nersen has developed his global investment and client experience at Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Haitong Securities, before joining Royal London Asset Management in March 2017. Nersen has over 21 years of investment experience.
