Critical Illness Cover

What you need to know.

We offer 67 definitions. 47 pay the full amount of cover and 20 additional conditions (including 13 additional conditions for early forms of cancer) pay 25% of the amount of cover, up to a maximum of £25,000, over and above the amount covered.14 definitions exceed the Association of British Insurers’ standard definitions.

When clients choose Enhanced Children's Critical Illness cover, they'll be covered for 13 child-specific conditions. These pay out 50% of the amount of cover, up to a maximum of £50,000. We also offer an extra additional condition covering nine pregnancy complications, which pays out £5,000 for affected pregnancies.

We’ll pay a claim if your client meets one of the critical illness or additional conditions definitions listed in the plan details booklet. If we pay a claim for an additional condition then your client later meets one of our critical illness definitions, we’d also pay the full amount they’re covered for.

Visit our interactive definitions search tool for our full list of critical illness definitions. You can view both our current definitions and past definitions wording to see how they've changed over time.

For more information about each definition and our additional conditions see our plan details.
