Clare Moffat

Head of Business Development, Royal London

Clare qualified as a lawyer and Notary Public in September 2002 and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. Post qualification Clare spent 5 years at Aegon Scottish Equitable in the legal department before moving to Pinsent Masons LLP in November 2007. While at Pinsent Masons, Clare acted for many different pension providers before moving to Prudential for over 6 years and ended up leading the pensions side of the external facing technical team which involved presenting, writing articles for the press and developing adviser facing content. Clare joined Royal London in April 2018 to head up the external facing team of pension and protection experts.

Craig Muir

Senior Business Development Manager

Craig joined the Life & Pensions industry straight from university in 1988, putting his degree in Biological Sciences to great use by joining Scottish Widows before moving to Scottish Life, now Royal London. He has held several roles here, including proposition training and development officer. Before finally putting his analyst degree to use when he moved to Marketing in 1997, where he specialised in market research and analysis. Craig became Chairman of LAMRA, an informal association of Life Assurance providers, in 2004 as he worked to improve marketing and market research standards within the Financial Services Industry.

Shelley has worked in financial services for over 25 years, starting her career in the Mortgage World and since 2008 in protection field Face to Face Sales. Originally with Bright Grey and Scottish Provident and latterly representing Royal London as Senior Business Development Manager in the West Midlands and Warwickshire area. Shelley therefore has an in depth knowledge of the mortgage and protection market and her strengths have been training and coaching advisers to recommend protection solutions to their clients and delivering this coaching in an easy to understand and simple way.

Moira spent the early part of her career with a number of European investment banks both here in the UK and overseas with responsibility for sales of money market securities and fixed income products to institutional and Central Bank clients. In the early noughties she moved to the life insurance sector where she has held various pensions technical roles supporting both provider product and proposition/ sales. Moira specialises in Public Sector pensions and worked closely with a number of key Public service pension schemes and the Local Government Association to help ensure the compliant overlay of pension freedoms on scheme regulations and practices.

Ryan’s journey with Royal London began back in 2008 after starting his career in compliance with Aviva. As an Investment Proposition Manager, Ryan learnt how to live and breathe Royal London's Governed Range contributing to both its growth and development as well as speaking all things investment at adviser events. Ryan moved to Aberdeen Standard Investments in 2017 for a stint in the strategic client’s relationship team before a return to the Royal London adventure followed in October 2018 and becoming a Senior Business Development Manager focusing on pensions. Ryan holds the IMC qualification.

Justin Corliss is a Business Development Manager with Royal London. Justin started his working life in his native Australia where he worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in client facing mortgage roles. Since moving to Scotland in 2002 he has held positions as a broker consultant for both Scottish Widows and Scottish Life dealing predominately with pensions. Before assuming his current role he worked as an Employee Benefits Consultant with a private firm. Justin holds the Chartered Institute of Insurance Advanced Diploma in Financial Services including AF3.
