Our Critical Illness Cover grows with your clients

No one wants to think about children getting critically ill, but unfortunately it’s more common than you might think. And when a child is ill, it can put a financial strain on a family, as well as an emotional one.

  • In 2017 there were 7.9 million families in the UK with dependent children. Source: ONS, November 2017
  • Parents pay an average of £282 in extra costs every week their child is in hospital.

  • Children's critical illness was the fourth main reason for a claim on our Critical Illness Cover in 2016. And the average age of a child at claim was just eight years.

We know that when it comes to protecting children there’s no one-size-fits all – what suits one family might not suit another. So we’ve improved our Children's Critical Illness Cover to make sure your clients get the cover that matters most to them.

When your clients take out Critical Illness Cover with us, they now have the option to choose a level of Children’s Critical Illness Cover that best meets their needs and budget.

And because a family’s needs are bound to change over the years, our children’s cover is fully flexible. If their needs change, your clients can add or remove Children's Critical Illness Cover easily over the phone, at any time and without giving us any medical information.

Our Children's Critical Illness Cover options

Our most comprehensive option for families. It provides tailored protection from pregnancy through to young adulthood. It includes cover for 12 child-specific conditions plus our 46 main critical illness conditions and 14 additional conditions currently available on our Critical Illness Cover.

Adults and children are also covered for an extra additional condition - pregnancy complications. This level of cover also covers terminal illness and provides a pay out on the death of a child.

This option covers children for our 46 main critical illness conditions – great for clients who want some children’s cover, perhaps for their older children, or who may be more cost conscious.

If clients don’t have children, they can remove Children’s Critical Illness Cover, so they won’t pay for something they don’t need.
